Laser Fusion Control

Laser fused profiles manufactured by Montanstahl are 100% weld inspection. Each individual bar is checked from start to finish, ensuring full penetration and weld continuity for the whole length of the bar. Laser fused sections have a monolithic structure and match the structural performance of hot-rolled sections. Therefore engineers do not need to apply any weld correction factor on laser fused sections, which prevents constructions from becoming unnecessarily heavy and keeps costs down as a result.

Laser fused profiles distributed by Fong’s Steels have achieved the highest weld classification class (B) according to ISO 13919-1 and approved by the German Building Authority, which grants unlimited access to the construction industry.
