production Correct yarn conditioning has an important impact on the quality improvement of cotton yarns. It has been established that the strength and elongation properties increase with moisture content of the yarn. This effect is explained by the factthat an increase in the moisture content results in increased swelling of the fiber and in addition of the increase in fiber strength and fiber elongation values, in a higher fiber to fiber friction in the yarn.
